I can’t believe how hectic it has been lately – it’s been birthdays & traveling on the weekends for weddings for Mr. Photographer (aka boo) and I. On today’s post, I’m sharing my brief experience in Denver, CO! We were in Denver this past long weekend for a good friend’s wedding (mazels J & S!). We flew in on Friday afternoon and because the boo was in the wedding party and had many groomsmen duties, I targeted one specific location for a photo shoot on Friday afternoon before the celebrations began. We will most certainly be back to Colorado another time to explore Boulder, Breckenridge, and Vail! The location I knew I had to check out was the RiNo (River North) Art District. There are amazing pieces of street art everywhere in that area, cool art galleries, and many many microbreweries. My googling led me to Larimer Street and it was fabulous! I’m obsessed with street art (pictures below) and all the colors so this was the perfect photo shoot opportunity. Post shoot, I rewarded Mr. Photographer with some local beers at Our Mutual Friend Brewing Co. which was also on Larimer Street. Delicious! What I’m wearing is […]

Gold Coast // Summer (please stay forever)

Hello sunshines! Cheers to Wednesday and only having two days left in the work week. So last Friday, my quest to satisfy a sweet tooth and to get a beerita (an upside down corona in a margarita) turned into an impromptu Friday evening photo shoot. It was an extremely rainy week last week, so I was so happy when the weather was nice and the sky was blue Friday after work, especially since we only have so many summer days left (*sign*). What I have on are pieces of clothing that I’ve owned for years – my navy anchor print shorts is from J.Crew and my cream tie-back tank is from Asos. We were walking down Oak Street, which is home to many many luxury boutique, and light bulb went off in my head to pose by these stores….hopefully one of these days I’ll be in a position to actually walk in (HAHA $$$$)!!! I haven’t worn my navy anchor print shorts yet this ENTIRE summer so I had to pull them out for at least one wear before the fall gets here. My motto is to buy quality & classic pieces of clothing that lasts for years and that never go out of style! With fall on the horizon, I’ve started to look for on sale patterned shorts to stock up for next summer & beyond. I’m still super obsessed with the new pieces of jewelry from my collaboration […]

Streeterville // Bold Work Style

Hello sunshines! Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Happy Wednesday my loves! We’ll be drinking mimosas & brunchin’ in no time. Today on the blog, I wanted to share how I make fashion statements in my traditional, suits all week type of work culture. First of all, I’ve never been a black pant suit type of girl. I hate dress pants…period. Second of all, I love a good fitting blazer (just got a new navy blue one from Banana Republic and it fits like a glove), but I truly dislike matching blazer and skirt sets! So….you ask…what do I do then?! I go for bold colors, patterns, and/or accessories. Of course, you know your work culture better than anyone else—so if bold colors are a no no, then try to go for patterns or statement jewelry! Read on for more :)!   Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:”Table Normal”; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:””; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0in; mso-para-margin-right:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:”Calibri”,”sans-serif”; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:”Times New Roman”; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} What I’m wearing on today’s post is a red dress from Ann Taylor (which I wear year-round, they look great with black or grey tights from Hue), a statement necklace from J.Crew, my amazing new pieces of bracelets & rings from Audaviv (details of the jewelry below & also check them out at www.audaviv.com), lace-up […]

South Loop // Summer Style

Hello sunshines! Happy hump day :)! With the Olympics going on and me buying this irresistible white off-the-shoulder dress, I had to channel my inner Greek Goddess this past weekend. White OTS dress, gold necklace, and gladiator sandals — you think I portrayed the image?!?. So this time, the view is from the South Loop, over in museum campus, where the Adler Planetarium and the Shedd Aquarium are located. Beautiful view, as usual. I’m so lucky :). No matter if I go North, South, East, or West, I still have this amazing view. My dress + shoes combined were about $50 (Macy’s – OTS dress was only like $30 since the dress was on sale AND I had a 20% off code, DSW – sandals were only $19.99…amazing!); I am a deal hunter and almost always wait until an item is on sale. It’s only a matter of months! One of the main reasons why I love this OTS dress is that it’s versatile, meaning I could wear sandals, sneakers, or wedges with it. Can you picture this with a pair of converse all stars? I sure can! I plan on carrying over this dress to the fall too – so stayed tuned for an upcoming post in the next few months when the weather turns cooler. Links below to my outfit! Dress: American Rag – Macy’s (still on sale!!) // Necklace: Sweet and Spark (one of a kind vintage […]

Lincoln Park // Views at the Zoo

Hello sunshines! Happy Wednesday :)! Just TWO more days until the weekend! So it’s been a couple of weeks since my last post — life has been a bit busy the past few weeks for the boo and I, and the boo has been traveling a lot on the weekends so I lost my photographer for a bit there!!! The weather this past weekend was AMAZING, so I obviously had to take advantage of it and we headed to the Lincoln Park zoo (it’s FREE!) for a stroll and then to one of my favorite summer rooftop bars, The J Parker, for a few cocktails. Just as we were leaving the zoo, we walked past suited up guests, then the wedding party, and then this gorgeous bride. LP zoo has a beautiful gazebo area where many have their summer weddings at! I was all smiles after that. I love randomly running into weddings in Chicago…it actually happens quite frequently believe or not! Anyway, a bit about my outfit — I’m still on the off the shoulder top obsession and recently bought the black Zara top at their amazing sale a couple of weeks ago. I couldn’t wait to wear it!! My shoes, the Denver caged sandal by Sam Edelman, were unfortunately better looking than fitting. After the zoo stroll and the stroll around LP, we ended up having to go to CVS in which I proceeded to literally use half […]

Hello sunshines! Happy Wednesday 🙂 we’re almost through the work week! So I realized that I’ve been taking lots of photos by street art lately…I just can’t help myself! They look so cool! We were at The Aviary the other night for date night and had some time on our hands before our reservation so strolled around the neighborhood and found this awesome artwork–it is right across the street from Federales (hot spot on my to try list!!!!). Also if you haven’t had a chance to try The Aviary yet, highly suggest going for a few cocktails (make sure to buy your tock tix online!), it is super swanky and quite the experience there (date night or girls’ night). I included a picture of our drinks from the night! And of course, links to my wardrobe below :)! Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Hello sunshines! Happy Wednesday and hope you all having a great week so far!  I did some reminiscing this past weekend, as it’s almost been 3 years since I moved to Chicago. I’ve never regretted my decision to move here and honestly, it has worked out perfectly, and I consider myself to be extremely lucky. I’ve met some great people—including the BF and new BFFs—xoxo to you all! Cheers to you Chicago, cheers to many many more years living here. I took a stroll up the lakefront, about 1/2 mile from John Hancock, to one of my favorite spots close by North Ave beach that has the most beautiful view of the Chicago skyline (SO MUCH LOVE).
